Jodie Davey Creates Film Funding!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read this below!!
I'm raising money to fund a few brilliantly diverse productions in support of BAME talent, East Asian Culture and Women in film. But I cannot do this without your help!
ABOUT ME
I graduated in Physical Theatre and Drama from St Mary's Twickenham 2016.
I've had opportunities to explore the creative industry that I long to live in.
I have been blessed with opportunities to Act and work with New International Encounter Theatre, Dead Rabbits theatre and even my own In The Quirks Theatre company, Secret Cinema and more.
In my years of post study, I've experienced parts of this incredible industry of creation. I am inspired by so many women in this industry, and I am moved by Time's Up and the declaration of change, the notion to diversify this industry and to share real important stories.

a business I formed to stimulate creativity as an ACTOR, FILM MAKER and PHOTOGRAPHER, with intentions in working with fellow creatives to help further their production and acting skills too!

WHAT AM I FUNDING?
For many years I have always wanted to write and direct my own ideas into screenplays.
I want nothing more than to BREAK DOWN THE BOUNDARIES. I want to inspire CHANGE, ACCEPTANCE, DIVERSITY, furthering the voice of WOMEN, and to become and great ROLE MODEL to those young people out there who don't know where to start in this industry, to give them something to be immersed in.
I have written a few short films, spoken word and even an idea for a feature film I hope to bring to life in 2019-2020.
FILMS TO BE CREATED!:
Recall- full length Short Film, Drama (PRE PRODUCTION)
Recall portrays the elusive suffering that some Actors may face in a fast paced industry where we obsess to compare and look at others instead of truly looking at ourselves. We follow the story of a young and fresh Actress from the country side who has recently moved to the Big Smoke, full of determination and wishes to make it, whatever it takes. We watch as she discovers what is fiction and what is not.
The Ticket- Short Drama film
The Ticket portrays the need for rehabilitation. We watch a young man who seeks peace within a chapel, only to be hounded by the somewhat toxic yet loyal friends from his past, Charlie and Mandy. Will he be able to leave them? Find out and see.
Pouring Tea- Short Spoken Word film
Pouring Tea depicts a cluster of Waiters and Waitresses who wait and wait and wait for their purpose in life. Hustling through the busy bustle of the cafe they all individually suffer. This is a spoken word experimental film written by Jodie Davey.
Life's a Drag- Feature Indie Drama
Life's a Drag explores a a story of two outcasted youngsters. This is not your average story of boy meets girl, or girl meets boy. It is much more than that. We follow them both as their paths unintentionally entangle in each others, blurring the lines of what is right and what should be done in order to be accepted for who they are.
NATY- Feature Film (working title)
Our story starts in a beautiful land called Philippines.
This Film is based off a true story. We explore true events of my Mother's Life, a women born and raised in the wondrous land that is Philippines. Her Name is Naty.
We will reveal the beauty, the dexterity and sheer determination that one young girl from a tiny Kalinga province in mainland Philippines dreamed of having and how she travelled far and wide from Asia to Western Europe in honour of a promise to her mother.
I will be writing, researching and submitting a prospective Film in 2019 to the BFI of which I truly hope can open doors for more young people in the industry and celebrate East Asian Culture in Westernised Countries.

I hope to spark inspiration to many other young creatives out there. Any thing is possible. The industry needs to hear more of our stories.
