Joanne's Journey

Please help us get Joanne the treatment that she so desperately needs!
Less than 2 years ago (May 2014), Joanne was diagnosed with stage 3C high-grade Serous Ovarian Cancer. She underwent major surgery to have a complete hysterectomy, de-bulking and a portion of her colon removed. Chemotherapy followed and Joanne had to endure 4 tough months of difficult chemo treatments.
Ten months after Joanne completed her chemo treatments, Joanne started having abdominal pain again. January 2016 Joanne was told that the cancer had metastasized to the liver and peripheral cavity. The Oncologist explained to Joanne that this type of cancer will always return and any cancer not returning from 6 months to a year later is considered good. Perhaps to an Oncologist cancer not returning 6 months to a year is good but to any mother, wife or any individual fighting for their life these are horrifying words. Joanne was told that she had to have chemo again and her treatments have since started.
We are reaching out to family, friends and anyone touched by this disease to help Joanne fight back and be able to seek alternative medical treatment that is not offered to her in Canada. The fact that the cancer has returned so quickly after treatment is not reassuring.
The Issels Clinic, in the United States, specializes in alternative cancer treatment, detoxification and nutritional treatment that is very promising. This treatment is very costly and has added to her stress, so we all need to assist Joanne in getting there. For those who know Joanne, she is always helping others and is one of the kindest human beings that you have ever met. Joanne had to leave her job in order to focus on her health, family, and medical appointments. It bothers Joanne so much to ask for help, but she also knows she can’t fight cancer alone. So lets show her how much we appreciate and love her.
Together, we can all help get Joanne to the Issels Clinic. Joanne’s greatest motivation is her love for her family, her son, her beautiful little 8 year old daughter who she deserves to watch grow up.
