Lisa needs your help!
 
On 14 June 2018, Lisa’s world turned upside down.  After experiencing daily stomach pains she finally had a CT scan and then received the news that we all dread - she found out she had been diagnosed with Stage 4 aggressive Ovarian Cancer, metastasized to the omentum (stomach lining).  She was admitted to hospital immediately.
 
What followed was endless blood tests, scans, chemotherapy, surgery (debulking & hysterectomy), hospitalisations, blood transfusions, a port put in under her ribs (for chemo) and more.  Not to mention losing her gorgeous hair, eyelashes and eyebrows.  Her radiant smile remains as always :)
 
Lisa has approached all her diagnoses and treatments positively and is determined she will recover.  She has thrown everything at the cancer – the standard medical approaches (chemo and surgery), as well as many alternative therapies (plant based diet, acupuncture, meditation, essential oils, kinesiology, supplements, high-dose Vitamin C infusions, and more).
 
But, at just over 1 year since she was diagnosed, the cancer has now spread to her diaphragm and peritoneal cavity.  This time, the chemotherapy is making her too tired and nauseous to work, her joints are painful and she recently had 5.6L of ascites removed (excess abdominal fluid). 


Up until now she has managed to do enough work to get by, but now she simply cannot continue (even though she desperately wants to – Lisa loves her work!).  She is now facing the real and devastating possibility of having to sell her beloved apartment – her one and only peaceful haven where she can rejuvenate her body and soul in between hospital visits.  We can’t let this happen.  Let’s band together and help Lisa stay in her home.  It would be so nice for her not to have to worry about finances and just focus on getting her body back to health. 
 
To us, her family and friends, this news has been devastating.  To watch our beautiful, radiant, kind, generous Lisa go through this, has been heartbreaking.  For a person who has worked hard her whole life and given so much to others, it just seems so unfair and unjust to now see her facing this battle and now on top of that facing huge financial worries.

Just some of the costs Lisa is faced with (which aren't covered by Medicare or her insurances) are:-
-      Surgery $6000
-      Medications and Supplements (in the $1000s, and ongoing)
-      Mortgage $730 a week
-      High-dose Vitamin C infusions $450 a week
-      Health Insurance $85 a week
