Jing's Memorial Service

If you met Jing, you would remember her instantly.  I remember seeing a picture of her before I had met her, thinking how beautiful, fit and healthy she looked. Little did I know what she had gone through to get here. And as I learned more about her, from all the stories her brother, Fen, told me, I knew she was a strong willed fighter.  I had learned that she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Thymoma cancer at age 29 and conquered it at the age of 31 and all her struggles to get there. And when I eventually had the pleasure to finally meet her this past winter, I knew she was exactly that- the strongest, most resilient young woman I had ever met. She was beautiful, smart, and so sweet. She had offered us her hospitality as we stayed in her home, in Queens, when we visited. She had planned a whole day scheduling family together so we could go out on a hike in Upstate New York, a few hours away. She would go out of her way to make our stay/visit an adventure to remember. We hiked up a mountain together like champs, laughing, and reminiscing about memories the family shared. We grabbed lunch together alone one day and she shared her stories of her tough journey to beat cancer and I immediately saw how much resilience she had. She had been through a lot and she shared with me so much that she had broken down into tears. From then, I was able to see how much pain she had to endure to get here. She was the strongest person I had ever met, and that is an understatement. She was young, free spirited, and always accepted any challenge thrown her way. She backpacked Costa Rica solo and trekked her way up a mountain even after she found out she was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. She completed tasks, one after another.  She wanted to compete in the next muscle building competition and she was set out to do it. She was a fighter and survivor, this competition would be nothing compared to everything else.  She was resilient and whenever she set her mind on something, she was going to do it. Ultimately, She was a loving friend, sister, and daughter. She was selfless, sweet, and thoughtful of those around her. She cared so deeply with passion no one could describe. Jing will forever be remembered for her fight, her wit, and her warm heart.

This GoFundMe is for the funeral costs for the family of our beloved Jing. She was a fighter, and as many of you read of the Daily News (https://trib.al/rG8zgHR ), she was recovering when a surgeon punctured her jugular vein, setting off a chain of reactions, resulting in cardiac arrest, a state of coma, and ultimately leading to her passing on 8/14/2019. She had just turned 33 while in a coma. She was in the hospital for nearly 6 months. From her mistreatment of cancer, to the surgeon misplacing the catheter, to her cardiac arrest at the operating table, Jing was put through a lot of pain, and so was her family. Any donation would mean the world to the family during this time and will alleviate substantial burden from Jings unexpected death.
