Born with health problems so severe the doctors said he wouldn't make it to his first birthday, my dad defied all odds and lived to bring light to people's lives for 62 miraculous years. On December 10, with friends and family by his side, he was released from his suffering and peacefully passed away.
My dad dedicated his life to others, spending decades as a social worker helping the homeless and those with mental illnesses. After retirement, he found the greatest joy in his life in helping to care for his beautiful granddaughter, Sofia. Some of his last words in the hospital when he was still conscious were to ask if little Sofia was ok.
We're welcoming donations to offset his funeral and burial costs. The last thing I want my mom, his wife of over 40 years, to worry about right now is how she's going to afford to put him to rest.
