Jeremiah 29:11 is how we live!
As many of you know Jim Teeter was diagnosed with prostrate cancer this spring.  Unfortunately it has reached stage 4.  His doctors locally have discussed hormone theropy and chemo to achieve remission.  After spending countless hours researching additional options, his family was told about the Dattoli Cancer Center.  This cancer center is internationally known, and one of the leading treatment centers for prostate cancer.  Treatment last 3 months, and in those 3 months, We will have to live in Sarasota, Florida, as treatments are 5 days a week.  The new discovery in living in Sarasota is that we have to pay the entire 3 months rent, deposit, and fees in one or two payments in most apartment complexes.  This will cost from 5000-7000 total.  That is a shock! And of course the medical bills are staring to come in.  Our friends have been very generousnand we are vry thankful.  If you see this post on your FB account could you please share it.  Thank you all so very much.
Many of you know that Jim is one of the first people to offer help or prayer and the last person to ask for help.   Cancer has a way of changing things.  Medical bills, the cost of maintaining 2 residences while in treatment, not to mention the emotional toll the "C" word brings to a family can be devastating.  While he is lucky his insurance is accepted and will pay up to 80%, it is unknown the amount of money treatment will end up costing his family.
So many times people want to help in circumstances such as these but don't know how.  We are asking for your continued prayers and/or any other help you would like to give Jim and his family.  We are utterly heart-broken at his diagnosis and remain hopeful that he will respond well to treatment.  We know that God has this!

Merry Christmas Happy Hanukkah,

I thought it might be a good idea to give you all an update on Jim.
We are finally home from Florida. Jim is doing great. He has completed 50 radiation treatments and has had his seeding procedure. We are very thankful that he has improved beyond our expectations. His PSA levels are in the normal range now. He will continue his medication treatments, pills, patches, and injections for 18 months at least. We will be going back to Sarasota in March for 3 weeks for an additional 10 treatments.
The above treatment schedule is standard treatment for men going to the Dittoli Cancer Center. The medication and radiation treatments vary depending on each individual. The center is the best in the nation with a published success rate of 83% with a new journal coming out soon with new statistics of 93% recovery. We are so blessed to have been able to go to this clinic. Dr. Dattoli is the leader in the field of prostate cancer. Jim and I want to thank Ted and Carl for referring us to the clinic.
We would also like to thank Ron and Bev, our family in Florida. They have stood in the gap for us through all of this including hurricane Irma. We were able to trust their judgement and have a safe place with their family Latrell and Jim. We also have wonderful friends in the neighborhood. We are so thankful to have a home there.
We would like to thank our family, Jon, Kelly, Jamie and Darren, and kids for help here at home, phone calls, Maroc Polo soccer games, and Christmas decorating. You are awesome.
We can honestly tell you all that we could not have made this life changing trip without each and everyone of you. Your prayers and financial support has been without measure. Just to let you know, this whole experience to this point has been about $12,000 out of pocket. This includes room and board, medical bills, travel and hotel expenses, fuel, etc. We don't know what we would have done this without your donations. Thank You doesn't seem like enough but it is ment from the bottom of our hearts. We pray that you all to have a blessed holiday. We give God the glory for his healing grace.

It has been awhile since our last update. So that being said we have great news to report!
Jim is just over halfway through his treatment program.
His PSA levels continue to drop. When we arrived at the Dattoli Cancer Clinic in August his PSA was 60. This week (10/18) his blood work showed that it had dropped to 14.7. We are very thankful for his continued improvement. He has been getting two 20 minute treatment until now. They have dropped them down to one 20 minutes this week. They have scheduled his last treatment for November 13. We will wait three weeks from that date for him to enter the hospital for seeding. Our hopes of being home for Thanksgiving will not be possible. Our plan now is to be home during the first week of December depending on Jim's recovery time from the seeding procedure. Jim is feeling really good through all of this and is able to continue normal daily activities.
We have been so thankful for your gifts and prayers. Prayers are so powerful when you find yourself in a different environment without your family, your church, and your friends. We are so grateful for each and every one of you. There are no words that seem good enough to express our feelings. Thank you for the phone calls and messages.
We are having to learn the truth about insurance coverage by experience. It seems easy when you set it all up. You think you understand what your deductible is, what actually applies to your deductible until you are in it. Trust us, it is not that simple and it is never as good as you think it will be. We thought that we had met ours at $5500 already. We found our yesterday that we had only met half of it. Most of the testing done in Orlando was out of pocket and did not apply! Darn it!
We are taking advantage of living in Florida as you all can see from following me on FB. I try to keep everyone there informed as best as I can. Please feel free to message me if you have questions about Dattoli Cancer Center, Jim's treatment plan, or even to just say HI! We love and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Today we have moved back into our little bungalow thankful the storm surge didn't affect it at all!
We r now reflecting on God's grace and the miracle of changing a category 4-5 hurricane to a 1-2 in a few hours over the great state of Florida.
Many friends sent messages that God will get you through any storm in life whether it be weather, your health, or your relationships.
Jim and I did not have a hurricane on our bucket list but God did! Jonathan reminded us that we have experienced every natural disaster but a tsunami.
Thank you for your prayers, concerns, suggestions (which were all considered seriously) but as you all know we stayed here because Jims cancer treatments were our first priority. We love ❤️ you all dearly and will never forget the outpouring of love you have for us.

Love to all, Jim and Judy

Most of you already know we r not only battling cancer but now we have Irma bearing down on us. Jim has had to stay close to the clinic for treatments so it's been difficult to leave this area. Yesterday Bev Horton our landlady found a safe house for us in zone C. We have been evacuated where we r living as it is in zone A. The house we will hunker down in has Telfar screens for doors and windows and a new tile roof. There is a snowbird neighbor that lives next door and jim can park his truck there. We know where to go if they evac zone C.
This of course has been a great unexpected expense and has been very stressful trying to decide what to do. Please please please continue prayers for all here in Florida.
Thank you for your support to this point and for your prayers. Love to all, Jim and Judy
