Support for Jimmie Schwartz and Family

Donation protected
On January 18th, 2019,  Pastor Jimmie Schwartz, of Ellicott City, MD, was traumatically injured in an automobile accident.  While stopped at a red light Jimmie's vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle traveling at at an estimated 50mph.   The impact sent his vehicle into the truck in front of him and then across the street and into the guard rail.  Paramedics had to cut the side of Jimmie's vehicle open to get him out and take him to the Shock Trauma Center at The University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, where he remains today.

Upon arrival at the hospital the process of discovering the the extent of his his injuries began.  Jimmie sustained a list of severe injuries that is hard to comprehend.  The injuries include a broken back, collapsed lung, torn aorta, broken ribs and internal bleeding.  At this point in time Jimmie is paralyzed from the waist down and it is unknown if he will gain back the use of his legs.  Jimmie's loving wife Meredith and sons Andrew and Christopher have been by his side since the accident to provide him with the love and support he needs.  He seems to  be healing each day and you can follow the families regular health updates on his Caring Bridge page at Jimmie Schwartz Caring Bridge

Jimmie has touched so many of our lives in so many warm and loving ways.  He has  guided us in our faith, blessed our marriages, baptized our children, lead our congregations in praise and has shown us what it means to be a kind, loving and caring person.  I know that each one of us wishes we could do something for Jimmie and his family.  We wish we could help him heal and recover.  We wish we could take his pain away.

While we may not be able to provide the physical healing we wish we could, we can try to help him and his family with our prayers, faith, support and financial gifts.  All funds, 100%, donated to this campaign will go to Jimmie and Meredith for them to use as they navigate their new and unexpected path in life.  The exact details of what their new path will look like is unknown but it will undoubtedly include a lot of expenses for which they could not have planned for.  Some of these expenses will likely include a wheelchair accessible van, making their home handicap accessible (or moving), ongoing medical care / rehabilitation and many different and expensive modifications to the life they were living prior to January 18th.   Please consider making a financial contribution to help lighten one small piece of the heavy burden that this accident has placed on Jimmie and his family.

Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to act.

I know we all look forward to our next big warm hug from this guy...
