JIM KNOWLTON'S SURGERY AND RECOVERY

Hello, this is Jan and Bob Schubert and we have created this Go Fund Me Account to support our dear friend, Jim Knowlton, in his time of need. 

Jim was diagnosed with brain aneurysm and had surgery on April 9th at the U of M hospital at 8:00 am.  At 4:45 pm he suffered a rupture with two hemorrhages.  This caused a stroke on the operating table. He has damage to his left side and has little movement in his arm and leg.    Jim was in intensive care for 3 days.  On April 20th he was transferred to transitional care at St. Therese in New Hope.  Then on June 13th he was transferred to St Therese in Brooklyn Park.  Jim was undergoing physical therapy but his Medicare dollars expired on July 28th.   His Medicare dollars have also expired for his transitional care.  Presently, Jim is wheelchair bound and will be transferred to a facility that has aide care 24/7 and available nursing care.  Jim needs help getting in and out of bed, help getting in and out of his wheelchair, and assistance in going to the toilet.  Going home is not an option at this time.  After these  4+ months, Jim and his wife have depleted all their personal funds and are in need of financial help.

Anyone who knows JIM knows he is a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a caring, loyal friend. He’s always there to brighten up a room with his presence, smile, humor, and fun personality. 

Most know Jim for his presence at car shows…driving his 63 Ford Galaxie.   He is a long-time member of MSRA.  Jim and Bob also held the 5-8 car show in Champlin for 13 years.  Even in his younger years  Jim was very involved in SCCA and worked the corners at many road races in Brainerd, Detroit, Wisconsin , New York, etc.

We are asking help from his friends and family for donations.  All funds go directly for Jim’s recovery and care.
