Jilly Jane Fights Leukemia

On Dec 27 our sweet silly Jilly girl was diagnosed with Leukemia. 

A few weeks ago Jillian stopped walking, and though the initial tests came back negative she ended up back in the hospital yesterday, and a more thorough biopsy came back positive for Leukemia. 

Her prognosis is good as it is type B Cell ALL which has a good survival rate. However the next several months are going to be a long and tough road for Jillian and her family. 

She will be getting a port installed for chemo today (Wed Dec 28). Chemo will start either today or tomorrow depending on when they are able to book the OR to get her port in. They'll also be doing a spinal tap to check for leukemia cells in her spinal fluid, and they automatically give chemo in spinal fluid right away to prevent the cancer from getting into her spine. She's also already had a blood transfusion because of her extremely low hemoglobin, which has been getting better since that. Her fevers are being caused by the leukemia, so they think those should subside after she begins chemo. The doctors and staff at Children's Hospital of Minneapolis, where she's being treated, are amazing and we're so grateful that she is in their care. 

Over the next months the family will be looking at significant extra costs as Jillian fights this. We're hoping to get donations to set up weekly housecleaning as the house has to be pristine to prevent infection, and anyone with 3 little kids knows how difficult that is! We would also love to help with child care for Jillian's two older brothers (one of whom is autistic), meal delivery, gas cards, etc. Anything you can donate is so appreciated. As you can see her treatment is starting immediately, so we'd like to help them financially as quickly as possible as well. And and all donations will go directly to the Ojibway/Lindberg family.
