Jewel’s maxillary beak amputation
Donation protected
Jewel was bitten by a Blue and Gold Macaw on Tuesday March 13, 2018. He was in his cage when it happened and it was a very unfortunate accident. I rushed him to the bird hospital and he was seen immediately by the doctor on duty. For almost a week he has been on and off oxygen, tubefed four times a day, and has been getting subcutaneous fluids to help keep him hydrated. He is slowly starting to learn how to eat all over again. He needs surgery to have his maxillary beak amputated because of how severe his injury is. It is extremely painful and is prone to bleeding so he is on pain and clotting medication and antibiotics to help him in the meantime. He is my baby and I really need the help I am limited even with the discount I get on funds but anything helps. Please spread the word about his story to anyone and everyone! I really appreciate all of the support from friends and family I love you all ❤️
