Jetmir Medical Fund

Jetmir is a 28 year old husband and father living in Macedonia diagnosed with Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA/Wegener’s) a systemic disorder that involves both granulomatosis (an inflammation found in many diseases) and polyangiitis (inflammation of multiple blood vessels or lymph vessels). It is a form of vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) that affects small- and medium-size vessels in many organs. It affects the upper (sinuses and nose), and lower (lungs), respiratory system and frequently involves the kidneys, lungs, eyes, ears, throat, skin and other body organs. For unclear reasons, blood vessels in affected areas may become inflamed, and clusters of certain cells (granulomas) may occur. Damage to the lungs and kidneys can be fatal. It requires long-term immunosuppression and there is no cure, and Jetmir will need medical treatment for the rest of his life.


Jetmir has spent two months in the hospital and is now being treated with an immunosuppressant, a medicine that lowers his body's immune system which will help reduce the inflammation that could damage his organs. He will need to be monitored constantly. He will need blood tests, xrays, and doctor visits monthly. Jetmir has no health insurance in Macedonia and owes thousands of dollars and works a stressfull job that pays only $200 a month. His doctor has recommended that he find a new job due to the treatments and the fatigue associated with this disease. His medical treatments cost $150 a month, and while paying this amount along with supporting his wife and six year old son he has fallen further in debt.



Donations will allow Jetmir to pay his hospital and treatment debts, continue treatments, buy medicine, pay for future treatments needed, get his electricity turned back on to his residence, buy time to find a suitable job for his condition, and will allow him to take care of his wife and son.

Jetmir, as stated before, is located in the Republic of Macedonia, and this campaign is being handled for him by a friend of his, who also has GPA, in Texas because Jetmir is not a citizen of the USA, which is a requirement of this site.
