Jessica's Battle Against Cancer Fund

Donation protected
HELLO Everyone,
My name is Jessica and my husband's name is Michael. We started on this life altering journey in July of 2013 when I was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer at the young age of 28. The devastating news left our whole world turned upside down. The cancer diagnosis immediately made me fearful and scared. We would soon meet with a surgeon who advised that the cancer was "inoperable". This news left us shaken and confused. We were newly married and had just moved into our first home earlier that year. We were young and ready to start living and enjoying married life, excited about our future and starting a family. Little did we know, God had a different path for us. Upon being diagnosed, once I got past the fear and anxiety, I became strong like a warrior. I immediately stopped working and devoted all my attention to my health. I became a raw vegan, took up juicing, changed my entire lifestyle and sat through hours of B-17, Ozone therapy, Mistletoe therapy, high dose Vitamin C, and Insulin Potential Therapy.

However, this did not work. In May of 2014, I ended up in the Hospital Emergency Unit. My lungs were filled with fluid and I was not receiving enough oxygen to my cells. They had to perform an emergency procedure to drain my lungs. They placed semi-permanent tubes in my back because the fluid kept accumulating. At this point doctors were not sure if I would make it and gave me days to live. I am a fighter and ended up pulling through, proving them wrong. I was put on chemotherapy treatment for the next six months. The treatment took a lot out of me, however I stayed strong.

Everything seemed to be moving in the right direction, I continued to show signs of improvement, however the cancer remained.  Everything seemed to be on track until late November of 2015, when I started to get headaches. I attended the Hospital Emergency, they performed some tests and dismissed my symptoms as a flu. A couple of days later, while at home with my husband, I had a seizure. Thankfully my husband was near and was able to catch me before I fell to the ground. My husband called the paramedics and I was rushed to the hospital. This time doctors decided to do a head CT Scan and the results were shocking. The results revealed two large tumours, 3" and 4" in my brain with several other microscopic lesions evident. I was immediately admitted and scheduled for an emergency neurosurgery to remove the growths. In the meantime, the seizures became worse and more frequent. At this time the doctors became concerned that I would not even make it to the surgery due to the severity and complications of the seizures. At one point, my vitals were not present and they were forced to put me on a ventilator to breathe. The doctors would soon become overly concerned as to whether they would be able to perform the said surgery and whether it would be successful.

Miraculously, I made it to surgery and both the tumors were removed. I woke in ICU not remembering the few days prior to surgery. Shortly after being discharged, with little side effects from the surgery, I started targeted radiation to the brain. My oncologist has also started me on a new cancer drug called TDM1, which is suppose to "extend" my life. I do NOT believe that cancer is my death sentence. I will NOT let cancer win.

I have done extensive research on alternative treatments and truly believe I can and will be cured. I want nothing more than to get back to living my life as I once did, instead of my life being on pause.
I want my life back!

I am deeply saddened, having to put my family, especially my husband through this. I am  SO grateful to be alive, but I do not want to be living in fear anymore. My husband has been by my side, every step of the way, through this whole journey. I want nothing more than to take some stress off of my husband, to be healthy and start a new beginning. I have been researching alternative clinics and have found a reputable one which I wish to visit. However, alternative clinics are very expensive. This is where I turn to our friends, family, acquaintances and anyone willing to hear my story. Cancer has taken too much from us already and I am NOT willing to let it take any more.

Any money donated will be used directly to fund my alternative treatment to beat cancer and take my life back. This is my fight, my struggle, my battle, and I refuse to lose. Help me kick cancers butt!

Thank you for your time
Love,
Jessica & Michael Mahadeo,
the Nair & Mahadeo Family.
