On August 16, 2015, Officer Jeremy Meiser was involved in a vehicle pursuit while working as a part-time officer with the Flushing Police Department. At the conclusion of this pursuit, a struggle ensued with the perpetrator and Jeremy subsequently sustained a bloodborne pathogens exposure. Jeremy has encountered a $900.00 bill for medical treatment he received from this exposure.
As a part-time officer with Flushing, Jeremy earned $15.00 an hour with no benefits. Jeremy now works for another police agency, but he has recently purchased a home and he and his wife are expecting their first child.
It is the objective of this fundraiser to cover medical expenses incurred while this public servant acted bravely to protect our citizenry. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
