Jen's Embroidery Catalogue

2017 sees my first solo exhibition which is being held at the National Needlework Archive situated in the Old Chapel Textile Center in Newbury, UK. To celebrate this event, I would like to produce a catalogue of my work which will be available through this fundraiser. I am keen to produce this catalogue to document the fine details in my work and once collated into booklet form, share my stitching with a wider audience, especially those not able to travel to see the exhibition.
I graduated from the apprenticeship at the Royal School of Needlework in 2003 where I still regulary teach and assess the students. My studio space is at Walford Mill Crafts in Wimbore where I design and produce a wide range of embroidery kits, a range of high end embroidered jewellery and one of a kind embroidered artworks.
The catalogue I am aiming to produce can only happen with the help of crowdfunding. I have a designer ready to start work and a printer who can produce short runs of bound booklets, these however become cheaper if more are ordered . Depending on how much I am able to raise will depend on how large a print run that I can commit to.
The catalogue will feature many major pieces spanning my career as a master embroiderer. I focus on working in great detail on a very small scale, and enjoy designing, stitching and teaching stylized and imaginative hand embroidery using a wide range of traditional techniques. This includes goldwork, silk shaded animals along with many other forms of needlwork. You will also get to peek at my sketch books and working notes to show how the pieces have evolved over time.
I know there is a lot of interest and support for this catalogue and I would love to make it a reality. Jen
