Dear Friends and Family
For four years I have been strugling with Multiple Sclerosis. For those of you that don't know much about MS--I certainly didn't before I got it--it is an autoimmune disorder without a cure.  Your immune system systematically attacks your autonomic nervous system and for many people it affects their ability to walk--a pretty vital activity.  For the past four years I have pursued a treatment for my MS that was not a burden on the healthcare system. I went on a gluten and dairy free diet four years ago under the advice of my physician in the hopes of decreasing inflammation in my system. This worked well for awhile and I was able to swim and do yoga, work and take care of my family.  Earlier this year, I noticed that it was beoming more difficult to walk especially when I am tired.  I also cannot do yoga anymore because I cannot support my weight in the poses.  I can still swim which is a lifesaver.  I also do yoga on the floor and go to physical therapy.
I started searching for a device that would help me walk and I came across a devise manufactured by Bioness http://www.bioness.com/Home.php
The device stimulates the muscles in my calf to help me lift my foot.  It is truly a miracle. 
The reason for my campaign is the Anthem denied my request to pay for the device because they say it is experimental and has not been proven by research.  I am working on other mechanisms to get funding, but in the meantime I just want to walk.
I am asking for your support, in any amount large or small.
