Jennifer's Horses Haven Fundraiser

We had a tribute to Jennifer Garringer on today's Morning Gazette Radio Show. Her life was cut short by a drunken driver while on vacation in Florida with her new husband, Todd. My wife and Jennifer did volunteer work together at Horses Haven in Howell.  They've worked together at the horse rescue once every week for the past several years. I never met Jennifer but feel as though I knew her well because of my wife's stories about their common love of animals, Jennifer's passion for her job as a CSI at the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, and the true love and new husband Todd shared together. My wife, Regan, has mentioned to me a few times in recent weeks about how she had never seen two young people so deeply in love. Todd showed up yesterday at Horses Haven for their shift to volunteer to help with the horses, and let everyone know about the tragedy. My wife's tears on the phone breaking the sad news to me yesterday will forever haunt me. Jennifer's friends and family are heartbroken, and my wife feels it is fitting for money to be raised in her honor to help Horses Haven.
