This is all about my little sister and her putting up her fight of cancer and fighting for her life. No one wants to hear the word Cancer, but to hear the Dr say Stage IV ... It's time to find the BEST Cancer Group available

Her Journey:
Jennifer was diagnosed with stage IV desmoplastic melanoma in May of this year. It went from a small pimple looking lesion to having a depth of 5.2 cm. in just 2 months, making this cancer a stage IV in this short amount of time. This cancer only makes up 4% of the melanomas In the US. The survival rate for DM is 75% at 5 years and 52% at 10 years. Due to the very aggressive nature of this rare form of cancer, it is imperative that she get the systemic therapy she needs, and the reoccurance rate is extremely high.
Her 2nd surgery was for a parotidectomy and neck dissection in hope of containing this extremely aggressive moving cancer. This surgery removed 19 of her lymph nodes and the salivary glands. During this surgery her surgeon located another inflamed node and in only a weeks time, removed that node from another lymph chain. The biopsy came back positive so will require spot radiation immediately and a year of chemotherapy treatment. This type of systemic treatment isn't covered under insurance and the treatment which is so critical to her life can not be started until there is a partial payment made. To date Jennifer's out of pocket cost have exceeded $25,000.00. Not including the upcoming year of chemotherapy to keep this terrible disease at bay. I have decided to open this go fund me account in hopes of reaching out for help with the cost of treatments for Jennifer.
