Jennifer Bolner Medical Fund

Donation protected
In February, soon after her 40th birthday,  Jennifer Bolner was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Dermatomyositis. In the beginning it barely affected her and she was only having some pain and tiredness. It then progressed and she would be so exhausted to the point that she was unable to bear standing up and was too weak to get out of bed.  Her doctor put her on steroids, and shortly after starting the steroid medication her muscles weakened to the point that she couldn’t shower, change her clothes, walk up the stairs, get out of her car, or do most of the things that we all do and take for granted on a daily basis. Her health continued to decline and the medication wasn’t helping, and then it started affecting her liver.

Most recently she has had pneumonia, and the doctors have found that this is related to a condition called Interstitial Lung Disease, and is directly related to the Dermatomyocitis.  She has been in Intensive Care since April. This has caused her to rely on a ventilator to breathe, and has required a tracheostomy. The doctors put her on a chemotherapy drug to try to help the condition, but so far it isn’t working. Her doctors in Northwest Arkansas are currently working with doctors at Baylor Hospital in Dallas to see what the next step should be.

Jennifer hasn’t been able to work since February and her health insurance doesn’t cover everything. Between her hospital stay at Baylor and her hospitalization here in NWA, her medical bills and personal finances are adding up.

Jennifer has gone from being a very independent and active woman to having to rely on everyone else. She has remained so strong through this difficult time and is loved by so many. We have personally been friends with Jennifer since before we can even remember and she is as much a part of our family as our actual family. We want her to get better and help lighten some of the financial burden on Jennifer and her family so that she can focus on recovering. Please help donate and share so we can help this sweet lady.
