I have been accepted to participate in a program this summer called Camp Adventure. Camp Adventure is a program that was started in 1984 to recruit camp counselors for children on U.S. military bases all over the world, first starting in Japan.
The program offers an irreplaceable summer experience for college students as well as prestigious training in working with children, not to mention 12 college credits through the University of Northern Iowa (Camp Adventures Headquarters).
As many of you know I am a Kinesiology major with a Recreation and Leadership minor at the University of Idaho. Having been accepted into this program I have completed numerous trainings at the neighboring Washington State University. This program serves as a unique stepping stone in my career path as I will gain valuable experience and create respected connections in the Department of Defense.
Very recently, I received my placement for the summer term, and I am so excited to be able to tell you that I am going to Patch Army Base in Stuttgart, Germany. I fly out of Seattle International Airport around June 8th and return August 18th. From there I will directly travel back to Moscow, Idaho to start my Junior year. This is a one in a lifetime educational opportunity that I don’t want to miss. Thus, in turn, I am asking for your support.
I am hoping to raise $650.00. This will cover my tuition fees and 12 credits. Any little bit helps, even a letter or word of encouragement!
