Jennifer Kicks Cancers ASS !

**Updated**
I'm sure that most of you reading this know Jen already, you grew up with her, you worked with her, you are a friend or family member. So I don't think I have to tell you what an amazing woman, mother, sister, auntie, fiancé and friend she has become and what she means to all of us...

My sister Jen was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2016, the cancer was stage 4 from the beginning (with a spot already on her lung).   This took us all by shock as she is young and otherwise fairly healthy! In typical Martens girl style Jen has decided this will not get her down!

Jen had 6 rounds of chemotherapy to try to beat back the tumor (as stage 4 is incurable by definition).
Jen was told her chemo had worked and the tumor shrunk and was inactive. At this point the CROSS told her to go enjoy her summer.
Our grandfather is having health issues also so we decided to all go to Penticton for some quality time with gramps and the whole family.
We packed up the RVs and drove down and Jen flew.
From the second she arrived she wasn't well, couldn't hold food or water down and was lightheaded.
She ended up passing game out in the trailer and having a seizure. That was the scariest moment of our lives.
Scans revealed Jens breast cancer tumors had moved up into her brain and taken over :(
Jen has now taken 5 rounds of Whole Brain Radiation to attempt to shrink these tumors. Once that was over with The Cross basically told her there was nothing else that can be done and she should go home and live out her last days.
Anybody who knows us know we couldn't just sit there and countdown those days on a calendar, we had to keep fighting!!
We are now in Tijuana Mexico at a clinic fighting away !!!

This battle just got alot harder and alot pricier.
JEN is still very determined to kick cancers ass!

Some of you may recall that Jen and I used to knock on doors, and beg businesses/friends to raise money and then we would do the 2 day 60 km breast cancer walk yearly, this was always a cause close to our hearts.

Something some of you may not know about Jen is that she is a miracle baby, Jen was born 3 months premature and weighed only 2 lbs 4 ozs. She fit in our fathers palm..
Jen also had to have heart surgery not long after birth and she made it through that too!

This leads me to why this page was created, not only did Jen  have to quit work but her fiancé  Wayne also has had to miss work during all the appointments and chemo treatments, hospital stays and aftercare.
She also has 2 young children to care for 4 year old Ryan and 11 month old Aubree.

On top of that, because she was a preemie (and had heart surgery) we have  serious concerns about her having had chemo and radiation and as such we have been utilizing alternative therapies to go along with her treatments.
These therapies have been proven to strengthen the body's own natural immune system to protect her cells and help her to get through all of this.  And boy have they worked !
These are natural therapies such as Homeopathy,  Supplements, Naturopathic medicine, Vitamin IVs, Ozone therapy, and Detoxification.

These therapies aren't cheap but they are very much needed.
Going through chemo, radiation, vitamin IVs, hispital stays, appointments, tests and constant scheduled supplements and medications etc etc is hard enough without having money worries to deal with.
This is a life or death situation and honestly it will take a village to keep these treatments going for Jen. Please if you can donate, please do.

Jen is determined to fight and win, she went into this with her head held high and a positive attitude, We are all very proud of her!
She was a miracle to us then and she is a miracle to us now, we will do whatever we have to in order to get her thru this and we hope you are with us!!

I think I speak for all of us when I say thank you from the bottom of my heart....
