Jen's Cancer Treatment Fund

Jennifer Ainger is a wife and mother of a 4 year old son. In December, 2015  when her son had just turned one, Jen was diagnosed with breast cancer. A year of treatment followed including two surgeries, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She was given the all clear in December 2016 and happily went back to work as a Pilates instructor the following January. In July 2018, it was discovered that the cancer has spread and is now in her lungs, liver and spine. It is a very aggressive and fast growing form of breast cancer and, as with all stage 4 cancers, the prognosis is not good. Treatment is palliative only. Jen has had 5 months of chemotherapy and is now on hormonal treatments. The doctors expect this might work for a year or two. Determined to stick around to look after her little boy, Jen is refusing to give in and is now exploring other options. She is being treated by an integrative oncologist who has had success with many other patients. Treatment consists of various repurposed medications and supplements as well as change of lifestyle and diet. Costs for doctor visits, testing and medication are prohibitive so we are asking for donations to help towards these costs as well as other costs related to supplementary treatments as they arise.
