Jean Welch Medical Support Fund

Donation protected

Jean Welch was recently admitted to the emergency room with fluid in her chest.  Her chest x-ray revealed a potential nodule on her lung.  She was admitted into the respiratory unit at Virginia Mason and underwent a biopsy of her lung.  She has been diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma .

In Jean's words this is not how she planned to retire.  For Jean not working is hard!  Jean has been a veterinary technician since 1977.  Jean has worked overnights (often having 2 jobs) caring for animals in their greatest times of need in emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals for most of her career.   She has worked in several of the emergency hospitals in the Seattle area including Emerald City, Alpine Animal Hosptial, Seattle Veterinary Specialists, and Kirkland Animal Emergency.

Jean has begun further testing and will soon learn about the treatment options.  Jean is concerned about her monthly bills and the medical bills that are starting to add up.   Any funds raised will help Jean and her husband Bruce with their monthly expenses.

Fortunately Jean has long term disability insurance which will help.  Long term disability takes approximately 90 days before it will begin to provide financial support of 60% of her monthly wage from her full time job.

Jean has appreciated all of the support and all of your visits!  Updates will be shared.  We will also share requests for errands or cleaning support at Jean's request.
