T1D Care at Joslin

At three years old, I was diagnosed with type 1 juvenile diabetes. Growing up with diabetes was fairly easy, but with the technology that we have today, I could never go back.

As a senior at Newton North High School, I was given the opportunity to enroll in the CAPS program, which allowed me to take part in an internship for the second semester. Instinctively, I chose Joslin. Being a part of the Joslin staff for even the short period of time that I was there, truly warmed my heart. I met many young incredible patients who were trying new devices, methods, and regimens each and every day while always being incredibly grateful. Patients had all different devices; wireless pumps, wire pumps, constant glucose monitors, ketone meters, etc. My eyes were opened to the outstanding improvements that have been made in the past thirteen years. All anyone can hope for is more.

Interning at Joslin inspired me to help support what has supported me my whole life. Donations to this fund will be given to Joslin Diabetes Center in efforts to help support research, education, and find a cure.
