About Japan Day @ Central Park
Founded in 2007, Japan Day @ Central Park is an annual event designed by the Japanese community of New York to promote a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and to say “Thank you, New York!” The event kicks off with the rousing Japan Run, a 4-mile mini-marathon including Kids' Races, hosted by New York Road Runners. The event continues with the Japan Day Festival featuring a wide range of Japanese traditional and family-friendly activities, free samplings of popular Japanese cuisine, and powerful stage performances throughout the day.

Why support Japan Day?
Your contribution to Japan Day will be used to support our three-pronged mission:
  1. To show the local Japanese community’s appreciation toward their home city, New York.
  2. To build bridges of cultural understanding between the people of Japan and the U.S.
  3. To facilitate stronger grass-roots connections within the local Japanese community.

Other Things to Note About Your Donations
-Japan Day Inc. is a non-profit organization [NPO 501(c) 3, EIN#20-5864522] and your contribution will be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

-All donations to Japan Day Inc. are unrestricted, and Japan Day Inc. will use the donations at its sole discretion for expenses including but not limited to event planning and management, administration, and donations to organizations whose activities and goals support Japan Day Inc.’s mission.

-The campaign runs through Wednesday, February 28th, 2018.
