Help Jayson keep on jammin'!!

Donation protected
Last October, Jayson Johnson (guitar shredder from The Uncommon Good and Shawn Johnson & The Foundation, and my brother from another mother) was rushed to the hospital in horrible pain.  He had been suffering for weeks before then with absolutely no answers.

They did a CT scan that night and found that he had diverticulitis with a perforated colon and was septic.  The next morning, they removed 8 inches of his colon, realigned his intestines, and he had to have an ostomy bag.  This was just to be temporary until January when he'd have another surgery to get rid of the bag.  He also would need to be on IV Antibiotics for months to fight the massive infection in his body.

Since October, it's been a nightmare for him, but he had January to look forward to with the reversal surgery.  When January came though, doctors noticed that there was still an infection, so he was told he had to wait a few more months.

Jayson was finally able to have the reversal surgery on April 24th. They said it went very well, and the surgeon was very pleased.  The next day Jayson sounded so happy and was finally able to get excited for the future, and to be able to move on from this.  That night though he developed a fever, and then the following day when I went to see him, he said he wasn't feeling as well as he did the day before.  The next day I got a message that he was in the ICU.  Something was wrong, he was septic again and in so much pain. He was in the ICU for almost a week when finally, his numbers improved enough that they put him back in a regular room.  He’s been in the hospital for over 2 weeks now, and yesterday the doctors said there is a chance he will need another surgery.  And then today they told us he hopefully won't need the surgery.  It's truly been a roller coaster, so we just have to take it day by day.

While Jayson does have medical insurance, and his job has been very understanding with him taking time off and working from home, we know that is not enough. Unfortunately, even though the hospital is in-network, the surgeon is out of network and charged roughly $450,000 for one surgery.  Insurance is working with him, but he could really use our help.  His incredibly amazing parents have been here for months taking care of him, and they are overwhelmed and exhausted.  We all know that lots of little bits together can make a big difference.  Jayson is a wonderful friend to so many people who love him and love the music he brings into the world, it would be great to show him & his parents how much this community supports him and wants to help him during this difficult time.
