HELP NEEDED. SAD STORY
Ok, long story. A fellow frogger, a genuinely dedicated and stand up guy lost his entire collection yesterday due to a space heater failure.
His roommates in trying to help added the heater due to some cold snap that hit them fast. He was away on business and returned 2 days later to that unsettling smell of disaster.
Some of you have been through this. Whether fire, or electrical loss, or other. We've been there together, and know what this is like for this fellow. I feel terrible. I've had it happen to me in various forms but never one's entire collection. I can only imagine his pain.
Some of my rare animals were housed there on breeder loan and doing fantastic under his care. He really is a dedicated frogger for the majority of of his life.
I think we can help.
We need suggestions for temp alarms systems [I had old Freeze Alarm company equip but know there is better stuff now], and whatever else you all can think of.
His collection was superb and not the average stuff, all rare tree frogs and the like. I wish we could come together to help him PLAN, and reorganize.
What is reasonable to ask? A fund/collection page? equipment loans? frog species and FLIES/FEEDERS? Links for back up systems and sensors?
I am asking not bc I had stuff there, but bc he is really devastated and we are a community who support each other.
He didn't ask for help, only for my forgiveness and that's why I haven't said who yet. Michael Novy knows him well and I think if it was one of us, you all would be there in support. I just know it.
I'm going to come up with some auction items to help out myself.
