Jax Cancer Fund
We are still finding out details, if the tumor is localized, then the surgery may be successful in eliminating the cancer. If it has spread to his lymph nodes, he will need chemotherapy and further medication as well.
For those of you who know him, he is the light of our life.
We plan to go ahead with the surgery, despite the financial stress it will cause us, because of course he's worth it. That said, we aren't exactly well off at the moment, and so we are looking for ways to help offset the cost of his treatment.
Katie will be donating her time to creating custom ceramic items in exchange for donations to his treatment. If you're at all interested in that option, please contact her via email, text or on Facebook.
All proceeds will go towards Jax's treatment.
Thank you all in advance, from Jax, Katie and Matt.
We will keep this page updated with news as to how he is doing.
What matters now is Jax is back home with us recovering (sleeping).
There is still a long recovery ahead, but without your help we wouldn't be here.
Thank you so much.
Thank you EVERYONE for you amazing and generous support.
If you have questions about the prints or want more details or measurements just send a message and I will get back to you.
We have booked his surgery date for February 28th, which is wonderful because it's sooner than they had initially said, and so he'll get this lump removed faster. He's started on medication that will hopefully help to shrink the lump so that the surgery is as least invasive as possible.
I just also wanted to add, that in a normal circumstance that we would be able to handle the financial burden of this ourselves. However, for those of you that are close to us know that we have also been struggling with Matt's health, and that he was off work all of last year due to his health. The insurance disability he was awarded helped us pay our bills, but exhausted our savings and maxed out any credit we had. I admit I am struggling with this Go Fund Me campaign, because it is really difficult for me to accept financial help from others, and it's why I originally offered my services of painting custom ceramics in exchange. I guess I just wanted to explain our situation a little more in detail, so that anyone wishing to donate had the complete picture.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your help. It has meant the world to us, and will make it so much easier for us to get our little buddy all the help he possibly needs.
