Jasvir Kaur, a 37-year-old Widow and mother of two young boys came from India to Canada as a visitor on July 12, 2019 to attend a wedding on August 9, 2019.  She was to return back to India to her family on August 24, 2019.  Jasvir was staying with her husband's Aunt & Uncle in Surrey BC.

On July 27, her Aunt was in the garden when Jasvir came down and joined her.  After a little while, Jasvir started to itch her face.  Assuming it was an allergic reaction to something in the garden, her Aunt went and got her over-the-counter allergy medication. She seemed fine the next couple of days, but on Tuesday morning her Aunt saw her swollen face and decided to take her to the a family physician to get her checked. As soon as the Doctor saw her, he advised Jasvir's Aunt to take her to the hospital right away.

She was brought into Peace Arch Hospital Emergency. The triage team took her in right away. After running their blood work, blood cultures, CT scan, and seeing her facial swelling getting worse, they were worried that it was going to block her airways. As a precaution, they intubated her in the ER.  She was then transferred to the ICU department in the evening and put into isolation for precautionary measures.

Since Tuesday, Jasvir has been heavily sedated to have her body rest, while they ran more testing. As of current, Jasvir has been diagnosed with Staph Aureus - a bacteria found in the upper respiratory tract which went into her blood stream which caused her to go into Septic shock.  This lead to her having blot clots and suffering from a mild stroke.  TB testing is also being done as the doctor's suspect it and they are waiting on the reports to come back.

Jasvir's Uncle purchased travel medical insurance for her in the amount of $50,000, which is what was recommended by the travel insurance agent.  As of now, her current medical bill is at $43,000 being in ICU for four days. Jasvir has a long recovery ahead of her and looking at staying at the hospital for weeks.

The medical expenses are continuing to rise and we are seeking the donations from all of you to assist in helping her with covering the medical costs. No matter how big or small, your donations help.

Family, friends and relatives are praying and hoping for Jasvir to become stable enough so she can return back by air to her young children. We thank you all for your support and well wishes.
