Jason McCollum memorial fund
Donation protected
On November 13th, my sister Cheryl's partner, Jason McCollum, who is the father of my two nieces, Autumn and Summer, age 5 and 3 and newborn Jason II, less than 1 year old, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from health complications. This unfortunate situation is all-too-common for my sister. Her oldest son, Charles Jr who is currently 10, lost his dad when he was two and a half years old from health complications as well.
I have been asked by family members if anything would be organized to raise money for my sister and her children. I've never been a big fan of go fund me pages after an individual passes away. I work in the financial services industry and strongly believe in the idea of life insurance. Unfortunately, not everyone shares that same view as me and takes the time get a policy. Others apply for insurance, but are declined because of bad health. When an individual passes away and does not have life insurance it usually leaves funeral debts and sometimes a wife and children in a financially dire situation.
I understand the holidays are coming and it's a financially difficult time for a lot of people but I feel every little bit could help. Any funds raised will be used to help with funeral arrangements, Christmas presents for the kids, bereavement for my sister Cheryl and any remaining amount will be used in a college savings plan to help her kids pay for college later in life. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for contributing if you were able to.
