Jasmine’s (یاسمن ) Brain Surgeries & Recovery

Donation protected
Jasmine (یاسمن) underwent a Craniotomy (right temporal lobectomy) on 10/22/18 at UCSF. The purpose of this surgery was to reduce, if not eliminate her seizures completely. Her surgery went well and her surgeon was able to remove a section of her right temporal lobe, along with her hippocampus and amygdala. Those parts that were ressected/removed was the focal point of her seizures.

After months of healing, her seizures slowly started coming back. And this was something that we thought would be gone for good and that she’d be healed completely. Unfortunately, Jasmine will require two more additional surgeries. Her 2nd surgery (SEEG) is scheduled for July 22, 2019 at UCSF. There is another portion of her brain, which is near the part that was ressected/removed, that has learned the behavior of her seizures and is still part of that network. The evidence shows that not enough brain tissue was removed.

With that being said, her road to recovery will be much longer. We have always been grateful to God (الله) that Jasmine pulled it through her first brain surgery and know that she will come out like a true fighter again. We are truly grateful for all of our family and friends who have been there for us, and prayed for Jasmine, and have contributed to our campaign.

We’re hoping the next two surgeries will be a great success for Jasmine. She’s a warrior and has been through a lot in her life. She’s a fighter and still pushes through even when she has no energy and her seizures take over her body.

We ask you humbly to show her how much we all appreciate, love, and support her by sharing our campaign and donating what you can. Prayers are always welcomed and encouraged.

Thank you humbly.
