Jasmine's Miracle

Just over a week ago, Jasmine had an accident which caused a spinal cord stroke, that paralyzed most of her mobility and breathing, leaving her in excruciating pain and disbelief for her family and friends. Jasmine was airlifted last Thursday, November 17th, to Colorado Children's Hospital in Aurora. When she first arrived, Jasmine was unable to move her body from the neck down, had a neck brace, was intubated and required a feeding tube. Jasmine was only able to communicate through use of her eye and eyebrows.
Jasmine has had a team of doctors working to figure out what is going on. Miraculously over the last week, Jasmine has continued to make major improvements! Slowly she has gained the mobility back in her limbs, has all tubes out, and is eating and carrying on like the spunky, fun-loving 12 year old we all know and love. The Neurolgoist said she can't believe Jasmine has come so far, but she is expected to have a very long road to recovery. She has been transferred out of the PICU, into the rehab unit to continue to have doctors assist with her ability to walk and move again on her own. The doctors have continued to run tests to ensure there are no blood clots or chances of another stroke occurring. Next week they start extensive rehab.
