As many of you know, Jarred Dahlberg, a graduating senior and a United States Marine Corps recruit, suffered severe head injuries from a fall Sunday evening and was  flown via helicopter to Albany Medical Center. He is currently stable in the ICU at Albany Med with several facial fractures that will require surgery, most likely later this week when some swelling goes down. While his injuries are horrible and the road to recovery will be quite long,  His family is beyond  thankful to have him here. Since being informed of his accident, the outpouring of love and support from friends and family has been truly overwhelming. His family is so incredibly thankful for all the love, support, prayers, visits and gifts to make this time a little easier.

We hoping to make this time for this beautiful family as stress free as possible. The Helicopter flight is something that insurance is not going to cover. This on top of  them having a 10% coinsurance, meaning they will be responsible for 10% of ALL the medical bills.  This expense is weighing so heavy on their minds right now. This on top of missing work is overwhelming. Any little bit can help
on behalf of Jarred’s family,
Thank you for your continued prayers!

And...he’s out! (This post is a few hours late!). Officially on the road to recovery. So many emotions today as we left our two week stay at Albany Medical Center! Thankful for the amazing staff that got him there, took care of him quickly and stayed with him until he was clear to go. He has come so far already, looking forward to graduation next week and praying for full healing. Thank you all for your continued prayers and well wishes!!!

The update for today is a very exciting one!....

We are going home!!! He had a great night barely any pain meds and is ready to start recovering at home. We are headed in the right direction, but still have so far to go. His eyesight is still no better and has a long way to go with the possibility of a follow up surgery. But, for today, we are happy with this step!! #jarredstrong #jarredsroadtorecovery

Per Kristina:
Update for this morning...I have my boy back!!! I’m crying happy tears this morning as he’s joking with me and literally acted like a kid on Christmas morning as his breakfast (that he finally got to pick) was coming in! Word is, if pain continues to get better, he may be going home tomorrow (with the drain in place).

Surgery went GREAT... so great that they finished 2 hours earlier than expected! Thank you all for the prayers, they were felt and they definitely worked!

They repaired his forehead, sinuses and bridge of the nose. He may still need repair of eye socket, but he will need to consult with the neuro-ophthalmologist to decide how to proceed with his sight.

Please continue your prayers for these gorgeous eyes to regain sight! Looking good Jarred!

He’s feeling good and the first thing he asked for was MCDONALDS! Enjoy that quarter pounder Jarred! We’re so proud of you! NOW LET THE ROAD TO RECOVER BEGIN!
