Kabuki Theatre takes Edinburgh

Hi all, we are KabukiMA a student theatre company based out of Pomona College, Claremont, dedicated to the study and performance of varied World Theatre Artforms.  We are a pair of college students, who have studied Kabuki Theatre under the foremost American expert, Professor Leonard Pronko, and the 100 year old dance master, Fujima Kansuma, in California.  We hope to showcase our training, and introduce people on an international level to such an inspiring, exciting, and unique art form, as Kabuki is.

This August we will be headed to the Edinburgh Fringe to stage a rendition of the Classical Japanese Kabuki Theatre piece, "Narukami: Thunder God", but we need your help! We need additional funding to secure our venue and cover important dues to ensure that our show is both legal and accessible.  This is our first attempt to showcase non-western theatre to a global audience.  We hope this will only be the beginning of our long journey to introduce the world to diverse, and under-represented theatre.
