My name is Kate Ozaki who attends Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA - a small liberal arts college 30 miles away from Pittsburgh. I came from Japan to study in W&J.

Now, I've run a project on campus for victims who are suffering disaster of the earthquakes in Kumamoto, Japan.

This is not a picture taken after a war, after the earthquake.

On April 14 at 09:26 p.m., a magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck on Kumamoto. After approximately 200 times earthquakes, the major earthquake with magnitude 7.3 hit there on April 16 at 1:25 a.m. Until today, 4/26, more than 850 earthquakes struck there. 49 casualities, over 1,000 injuaries, over 10,000 collapsed houses, and more than 180,000 victims.

I think these numbers would just tell you facts of this disaster. Lots of people in U.S. have never experienced earthquakes.

I did not have much almost same as yours until I went to a college in Tokyo..

I lived in Tokyo alone from 2013 to 2015(last summer). I had some earthquakes with up tp magnitude 2 or 3. However, I felt very scared. The light is moving, not know which one - the ground or my body - is moving, no idea what to do if this earthquake is going to be more big etc.

Still victims are living strongly at such scary and unsafe places.

Even from America, we could support them.

So, I would sent this money to the prefecture(state) the earthquake struck. There are two major resons why I chose this way.
1) Money would be used equal to the victims (because they're local government)
2) Money would be useful rather than any products

I'd put raised-money on what I am raising on campus. After all them togetehr, I'll send to there.

I need your help. Only $1? - It's totally okey!

Japan needs your help.

Please give us back one of the most beautiful country in the world.
