Janie Gregory's Funeral Expenses

Can't sleep. It's been a whirlwind of emotions. Today, we found out that my sweet mother was a victim of insurance fraud. A woman from her insurance company solicited her 13 months ago and "called her" up on the phone. Told her that she had some cash value and asked if she would like to use any of it. She had had that policy for over 30 years, paying faithfully to protect her family. Only $11,000, but she struggled to pay the premiums, only on a fixed income, for the past several years. The lady was very "reassuring" and promised Mama (in front of witnesses) that if she took out a new policy, she would have immediate coverage. She even made a big deal if "double checking." Mom didn't want to take much, just enough to purchase a grave plot by my sister because she wanted to be buried close to her one day and was afraid one might not be available, at a later point. Found out that you have to wait 2 years for the policy to be effective. She was using Mom to get commission on a new policy! As soon as the funeral Home director heard the agents name, he lowered his head, knowing it wasn't good and immediately called the insurance company and found out the news we feared. Policy not good until 2 years. This woman was arrested for exploitation of another adult, a few months ago and it turns out my friend's Aunt was a victim of her too. Charges were filed. Anyone who would do such an evil thing should rot in prison! My poor Dad has been devastated. We now have to come up with around $3000 for funeral down payment, plus $600 to open and close her grave, up front; Plus, be responsible for paying off several thousand. I am never one to ask for help, but I am going to start a go fund me page. If you are able to help in any way, we would appreciate it so much, if not, please just pray for us. Losing my Mama was so sudden and now finding out that that evil insurance agent scammed her is just torturing us. Please pray she is prosecuted to the fullest for all she has done.
