Janet's Journey to Beat Colon Cancer
In December 2018, Janet Horrigan was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. While not an uncommon form of cancer, it has previously been more associated with older demographics.
At only 27 years old, Janet joined the growing number of young people affected by early-age onset of this disease. In addition, Janet's cancer is also genetic and will require lifelong monitoring.
Janet underwent lifesaving ileostomy surgery to remove her tumor in 2019. Her stoma is a testament to her bravery and strength. Janet takes great joy in being able to use her experience to bring ostomy awareness.
Janet is now back in chemotherapy as her cancer progressed to Stage 4 in June. Despite this setback, we all remain optimistic for better days to come.
Unfortunately, cancer treatment is expensive and Janet’s condition has limited her ability to work. We ask those interested in helping the Horrigan family to please consider donating to this fund and help them during this time.
We are extremely grateful for those able to assist Janet and are accepting donations via GoFundMe and Venmo (@janet-sarah). The Venmo donations will be manually inputted into the GoFundMe for record keeping. In addition to donating, we also welcome positive encouragement and prayer for Janet as she continues treatment.
With love,
Team Jan
PS. Everyone’s love and support has meant so much to us since we launched this page and shared Janet’s journey. Thank you all for being apart of it.
