JANELLE HASBROUCK-TROTH

** Part 2
“Hey there, I may need your help …again. I am looking into going to Cancun to Hope4cancer for 3 weeks. The cost is 48k and I need… to go.

They took me off the trial 2 weeks ago cause my scans came back “brighter”. And there really isn’t a trial that I fit around here. “

Even when conventional medicine is failing her, Janelle never quits! If you are fortunate enough to be healthy and can, please help this beautiful family.

*** Part 1 Janelle's first mammogram resulted in devastating news. Within the space of a week, a routine exam left her facing a diagnosis of InvasiveDuctal Carcinoma (breasts and lymph nodes).

Many of us know Janelle as a Nanny. She became part of our families while caring for our children off and on throughout the past decade but she stayed a friend and adopted family member long after she graduated and moved on to start a beautiful family of her own. She found Adrian (from across the pond) and they married in July of 2014. Soon after, there were baby showers to welcome first Violet (now 3) and Scarlet (17 mos) to the Troth family.

Adrian and Janelle were busy raising their adorable, feisty girls (with much help from her parents, Veronica and Larry) when cancer entered the picture. They had worked hard and had finally saved enough money to buy their first home this year. Everything was going to plan! My reaction to the news was instant, heart-breaking fear for my friend and her young family. I could not imagine the fear Janelle would be working through with regard to Violet and Scarlet and I wanted to help in any way possible. As an Accountant, the first place I knew I could make a difference was to attempt to relieve Janelle and Adrian of some of the financial strain they will be under as she fights this battle.

Though Janelle will have all of the love and support her parents can provide, she has no way of knowing how much work she will miss. We don't know what they will face in medical bills, what assistance they will need with childcare expense, or how they will manage to hold on to the home they've saved for. I figured that if my instincts were to help, then Janelle's extended family in Keene's Point and throughout the Windermere Area, as well her friends across the state of Florida and her home state of Minnesota would feel the same way. Janelle's heart, megawatt smile, zest for life and having fun, as well as her unwavering friendship have all made her part of the Reichert/MacEachern/Zellner family and I am sure there are many more names I could add to that list Howard/Schieffelin/Kivetts/Stewarts/Hagan...

If you, like me, want to help, I am hoping to give you the opportunity to send prayers, well wishes and to donate by name (or anonymously) through Janelle's GoFundMe Page. I hope to keep you all updated through her upcoming treatments and future surgery. If through these donations, we can take just one thing off Janelle's (and Adrian's) shoulders as she focuses all of her strength and determination on beating this while caring for her girls, then we will have been a success.

We love you Janelle!
