A year and a haf ago I was hit by a drunk driver while sitting at a stop light. My truck was totalled along with my pain free life as I knew it. I suffered a neck and back injury which at first I thought that physical therapy and time would heal my consistent pain. Unfortunately 4 rounds of physical therapy and 5 cervical epidurals did not help. My quality of life has totally changed. I have suffered nerve damage in my arms making me drop things that I am holding. Even standing sitting, walking or any physical activity for long periods of time are intolerable. After a lot of pain and tears I have decided to go with surgery on 3 levels of my neck to repair the problem so I can start being me again. Surgey is scheduled for May 2nd, I will be out of work a minimum of 6 weeks and thought I and financially prepared pretty well. However when I went for my pre-opt appointment I found out that I still needed to have $2250 to meet my total out of pocket deductible to have my surgery. If I pay deductible then I am taking from the budget that I saved to be out of work. Either way Im short. For those of you who know me you know how hard it is for me to ask for help. All I ask is if you are in a position to help I would really apprecate it, If you can't I understand. I will promise one thing, once I heal and move pass this I will pay it forward to someone who is stuck in a bad situation.
UPDATE
Surgery is complete however I have a long journey of recovery ahead of me. We are still trying to hit our original goal to help offset the expenses of being out of work and medical things that are not covered. Thank you to all my friends and family that have been able to help so far. We really appreciate the help, and once I am healed and back on solid groud I will pay it forward. I am still going to ask for my family and friends to continue to share on their Facebook page so we can continue to reach our goal.
