Jamie Matter's Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
Jamie Matter is a twenty five year old special needs young man in urgent need of a kidney transplant.  In Janurary 2017, with no previous health issues, he became suddenly ill and was taken to a local emergency room where it was discovered that both of his kidneys were in complete failure.  The organ failure is affecting his heart and other body systems as well.  After Jamie was transfered to another hospital, he began dialysis, which he continues to this day. Although the initial cause is still uncertain, Drs believe Jamie contracted a "super virus" some time earlier which silently damaged his kidneys.

Jamie is currently undergoing ten hours of daily dialysis at home and he must travel twice weekly to a dialysis center in addition to the at home dialysis treatments. He is also under the care of a cardiologist because of the damage done to his heart from the kidney failure.

The only other option for Jamie is a kidney transplant.  Because he has a twin brother who is a willing donor, Jamie will not need to be on the transplant waiting list. Even with a donor, transplants are prohibitively expensive. Jamie's family must raise $15,000 - $20,000 above medical coverage.

Jamie is a very sick young man in a desperate situation, but he is much more than that to his family and friends. He is an avid Atlanta Falcons fan, a member of Cedar Crossings Baptist Church, and a devoted bass angler. He loves muscle car magazines, playing video games and attending Toombs County High School football games.
My name is Irena Justice and I am Jamie's aunt, his mom's older sister.  I am managing this account on his behalf to help the family while they cope with the day to day care of Jamie's condition. 100% of the money donated to this cause will be used towards Jamie's kidney transplant. This is may include transportation to and from Atlanta before and after the operations as well as other medically related needs.

While our goal is large, we believe it is obtainable through faith. If you can give, thank you. If you can't, thank you for taking the time to read Jamie's story. Please share and help spread the word, but above all we ask for prayers for Jamie and his family as they as continue their journey towards his ultimate healing.
