Growing up in Northern Ireland I had debilitating eczema ever since I was a baby. I moved to the states In my early 20s and found that my health miraculously improved. Last year I moved back home, thinking I had grown out of my skin problems but quickly discovered that wasn't the case.
I spent the better half of a year mostly bed-ridden, fighting a skin infection that kept worsening despite constantly being on medication.
I made it to America for thanksgiving and my health was so poor at that point that I ended up in the ICU in Charlotte for 11 days with infective endocarditis, sepsis and septic shock. The infection in my skin had gotten into my blood and moved to my heart. Multiple tests and heart scans revealed a heart infection called Infective Endocarditis, which the doctors said was caused by complications from my skin issues. I am still in America currently receiving treatment. Because I have had endocarditis once already I am at a higher risk of getting it again and since my eczema is so bad in Ireland we feel like relocating to Charlotte is going to be best for my health.
Due to the unexpected nature of what has happened, my family and I have decided to relocate back to America because that is where we feel my health will be most manageable.
Any and all financial help, big or small will be greatly appreciated as we adjust to this new and unexpected change in our lives. All of our belongings such as clothes, our car, the house we recently moved into, Cecelia's toys and clothes, musical equipment, household items are all back in Ireland, and as the shipping costs are so high, its too much to ship back here. We are basically starting over with everything but are so grateful for all of the support and love we have received so far. Thank you in advance for everything!
