James Hickman's Medical Fundraiser

I wish I could put into words how much this man James Hickman has impacted my own path in this journey we call life. Unfortunetly words cant explain the type of love, kindness, humility, selflessness and positive energy that James carries with him everyday.  James posseses something inside his heart that I cant quite completely understand. I know he is only human just like the rest of us, yet there is an energy and wisdom that speaks through him that always resonates with me anytime I speak to him. All of you that know James understand what I am talking about. I would guess that even if you have only met him once that you sensed this about him.
About two months ago James was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. To any number of other people this might have been a crushing blow. To James this is just another oppurtunity to be of service to others. Sure, it took him a couple weeks to start to wrap his head around the fact that his time left here on earth could be shortened drastically by this diagnosis and yes he is terrified at times of the different possible outcomes and the long painful road of treatment he has in front of him. However that man I spoke so highly of earlier is still there inside James and that man is ready to face whatever needs to be done to allow him to stick around for many years to come. Heres the thing. James's  physical energy has declined drastically after his 3rd round of chemo. A round that was a much bigger dose because his blood levels were so good after his first two rounds. His energy has declined so much that he has been unable to show up to his jobs that he loves so much. You see James has two jobs and works 7 days a week helping other people. James has done nothing but help other people for about the last 25 years. His job during the week for around 15 years was at the Torres Community Shelter helping the visitors to the shelter find hope. That job has since then transformed into him running the transitional housing for those visitors at the shelter called "The Friends House". That is where James now works 5 days out of the week.
On the weekends James cares for a 102 year old woman named Betty. He has been caring for her for about 5 years.
Perhaps if you dont know James you're starting to see why I spoke so highly of him.
Most of us today know someone who has been diagnosed with some type of cancer or another. We have seen there struggles with all kinds of battles including the financial battles with medical expenses and missed days of work. So please, if you have any amount of money that you can give to help support the cost of James's medical and living expenses we would be eternally grateful.
Even if you cant donate any funds today then please share your experiences with James on here for the rest of us to enjoy. How has James affected your path or helped you along the way.
