Jalyn’s Memorial/Funeral

On Tuesday, June 11th 2019, we lost one of kindest people I’ve ever known. She passed away in Burnaby General Hospital due to ovarian cancer at the age of 22. 

Jalyn was a smart and persevering woman. She knew what she wanted, and worked hard for it. She was an aspiring chef who put her heart in all the recipes that she made. May it be for her to share to family, or online on her blog. Her smile lit up every room she was in.  

She had an array of talents that she used in the culinary world. She managed to achieve so much within the short amount of time given to her. She competed in BC Skills and won gold with her creation. She was chosen to represent BC in PEI and got 4th place to represent Canada in national skills.

She was driven to do all these things and was looking forward to every bit of it. She was very passionate with all the things that she does in baking, a perfectionist girl to make sure that she has the perfect piece. 

2016, she started her battle against her illness. She would get better for a while, and then get worse. Unfortunalely, she got the aggressive cancer. It’s been almost 3 years and her body just couldn’t take the toll of all the treatments. 

She was brave, she would’ve kept fighting if she could. She will be an inspiration to everyone that knew her. 

She is now free of pain and suffering. In heaven, baking and probably eating all the cheesecakes she can. 

She left behind her family. Her mom and dad, two sisters, and 3 nieces. They are brokenhearted with the loss of their youngest.
