UPDATE: For those that may not know Jai, he is a 24 year Air Force Master Sgt, HVAC technician, Infrastructure Superintendent, and Career Enlisted Advisor that served his country faithfully and proudly. He served stateside as well as overseas with numerous of deployments in between. Jai is a devoted husband, a father of two and a brother to all. Details below... Thank you all for everything that you have given so far, words cannot express how much it means to Jai and his family. This money will be able to provide the family with the accessibility he needs to be able to be transported back and forth to medical treatments appropriately.
If you know Jai like I know Jai, you know how much of an inspiration he is and how he speaks straight from his heart. He put his people first and made everyone feel like family. So it stunned all of us when we heard that his Air Force career was cut short due to a negative reaction to a mass discovered in his head and later diagnosed with Primary CNS Lymphoma in early 2016.
Since then, the Lymphoma has spread to his spinal cord and brain stem which has forced Jai to decline in his battle. Jai is now fully immobile and only has control of his right hand and arm. Jai's wife Sherie, struggles to transport Jai back and forth to the hospital, not to mention daily household chores.
The VA has taken care of most of the assistive upgrades to their house, there are more areas that need attention, as well as their van which is not fully wheelchair accessible. They have only been approved for a small grant to get a new van, that does not cover a 1/3 of the price for the van that is needed, which would prevent Sherie from PHYSICALLY transitioning Jai from his wheelchair to inside the van, and of course back out.
We want to raise some funds to make life a little easier on Jai, Sherie, and the kids by using funds to assist with a wheelchair accessible van and anything else that can help Jai enjoy home.
