Jade & Franz US Novice Pairs Champs

Jade Hom and Franz-Peter Jerosch are the 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Novice Pairs Champions. They made Team USA (junior division). They will be moving up to the Junior Pairs rank this season. 

They have been skating together for only 8 months and have an incredible future together representing the United States at international competitions. Their dream is the 2022 or 2026 Olympics.

Franz is the 2016 Juvenile Pairs Silver Medalist and 2017 Intermediate Pairs Silver Medalist. He needed to find a partner that jumps in his direction (clockwise... which is rare in figure skating), and wanted to skate full-time.  Jade is a talented singles skater who wanted to try pairs and they worked out like a dream. 

Jade, 14 is beautiful, graceful and a daredevil. Franz, 16 is strong,  graceful and cautious. It's a great match. They get along great both on and off the ice. Since skating at this level demands 30 plus hours a week of on and off ice training, they both do online high school. Franz is from Yarmouth, Maine and Jade is from Southborough, Massachusetts.

They train at the Skate Pairs program in Boxborough, MA under the direction of Bobby Martin and Carrie Wall. Their jumps coach is Konstantin Kostin, choreographers are Sheryl Franks and Carrie Wall and physical trainer is Michael Cook. It takes a village!

Their head coach, Bobby Martin has long-standing relationships with folks in U.S. Figure Skating, the country’s governing body for the sport.

“They’re keeping a close eye on these two,” Martin said. “Our goal is to have a top senior team.”
