Jackson's Washington, DC JrNYLC

Jackson is a fifth grader at Luff Elementary School in Independence, MO. He has been recognized as a student who has achieved academic excellence and possesses strong leadership potential and was nominated by his art teacher to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) to be held the summer of 2017 in Washington, DC.
Jackson is an amazing young man (and I'm not just saying that because I'm his mother!); he takes part in his school's Student Lighthouse Team (an amazing alternative to student council), he was recently named one of the Luff Artist of the Month for November for a Jackson Pollock project he completed, he plays baseball spring/summer/fall (his current team was 10-0 this past fall season!), and he volunteers with HOPE Dental where he helps with community health fairs and school based events.
The JrNYLC is an amazing opportunity for the students selected to attend; they will explore leadership through the lens of American history at the National Museum of American History and the Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans, and Korean War Veterans Memorials. They will be guest at historic Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, and spend an unforgettable night at the Maryland Science Center among the exhibits!
Funds raised will go towards the JrNYLC tuition fee of $2195.00, air fare $476.00 (estimated), shuttle fees $70.00, travel insurance $129.00.
Our family feels this a unique and once in a lifetime experience for Jackson. Being able to fund his trip would mean the world to our family.
