The Jackson's IVF Journey

I've been sitting here staring at this blank screen for what seems like forever, at a loss for words for one of the hardest things we've ever had to do... ask for help.

As some of your are aware Brandon and I are in the process of getting ready to start our first IVF cycle, but what a lot of you don't know is how we got to this point.

We've been married for almost 3 years, and when we got married we never in our wildest dreams imagined that we'd struggle to have kids. We just assumed that it would happen when it was suppose to and it'd be easy for us. For that reason we were overjoyed when only a year after being married we found out we were pregnant! Sadly that pregnancy ended in miscarriage but we continued on with the hope that we would get pregnant again quickly.

Six months after our miscarriage we still had not gotten pregnant again and started wondering if something was wrong, even though we kept getting told "well you got pregnant before, you can again!" I finally in a routine check up with my OBGYN brought up our concerns and he suggested we go see a RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist) and that we probably just needed an extra "boost" to help us get pregnant again.

We went to our first appointment with such high hopes that we would have an easy fix and be back on road to a family quickly. At first our RE thought the same because everything looked good for us (since we got pregnant once) so she started me on some meds and an injection while we continued to try on our own. After that didn't work we were told that we could try IUI (Intrauterine insemination).

Brandon had a semen analysis done to make sure we were good to go with this and on the day my precious nephew was born we got the devastating news that his numbers were very low and IUI wasn't even an option (talk about a rollercoast of emotions in one day!). He went to go see a doctor to find out what was going on and we once again had hope that we had just hit a little bump in the road and with some medication we could get back where we needed to be after 3 months (it takes 3 months to tell if the medicine is helping or not).

Well after those 3 months were up, his numbers still had not improved like they needed to and we were told that if we wanted to have a baby IVF would be our only option. That's what has led us here...

IVF is a very expensive process, and we're looking at paying $12,000 for about a 50/50 chance of getting pregnant. This has added a lot of stress on us for something most people don't even have to think about in their lives. We've had some people tell us that they would like to help us in any way they can, so after a lot of thought we decided to make this page.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we start this process that we hope will give us our rainbow baby!
