Jackson's Physical Therapy

We are so incredibly grateful that he was able to get into his new helmet so quickly! It makes a difference in his head shaping as his head continues to grow! We are keeping the GoFundMe page open as Jackson will be beginning his physical therapy soon. These sessions will be around $150 each visit.

He also has not been able to gain weight after increasing feedings.  This is most likely due to his GERD (acid reflux disease), but we wont know for certain until his upcoming GI (stomach doctor) appointment.

Joey and Jessica's son Jackson has a condition called plagiocephaly. The most simple explanation is that the baby has a flat spot on his skull. As he grew we noticed small head deformity. The hope was that as he began rolling, moving and growing the shape would correct itself. It did not and Jackson was  fitted for his first Doc-Band Helmet in August 2018.

This helmet is a unique piece of orthopedic equipment to help his head shape more symmetrically as he grows. He "graduated" his first helmet in October 2018. These Doc Band are specialized and molded individually, so as Jackson grows, so must his helmet.

His most recent neuro appointment went well, surgery is not required at this time! Thank the lord! But the recommendation was to use another Doc-Band to continue the improvement that has already started and is scheduled to start physical therapy. 

As with any medical equipment/services, it comes at a steep price. The new helmet will cost around $2500. There is an assistance program available, and if he qualifies it will cover half the price of the helmet. However, the helmet is being ordered this week and we do not know yet if Jackson qualified for it yet. 

With the holiday season coming up we thought it would be a huge financial relief to be able to help cover some, if not the entire cost of the new Doc-Band! I know Joey and Jessica are strong and independent people who would never ask for help themselves so we thought this would make an amazing gift to their family!
