Jack Stokes
After weathering many cruel set-backs in childhood herself, mum Lara was diagnosed with and treated for rare mouth cancer last year.
This led to many long hours away from home in Gladstone to attend hospital in Brisbane for multiple surgeries and subsequent check-ups.
Mum Lara is still having to fly from Gladstone to Brisbane for check-ups whilst caring for her toddler, Jack and keep her home running with husband Brock.
TODAY, the news thundered across the country, that little 2 1/2 year old JACK has been diagnosed with "retinoblastoma" - or eye cancer. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/retinoblastoma/home/ovc-20156213
The family is reeling from shock and still recovering from the trauma and expense of last year's ordeal only to have to face this all over again for little Jack.
Jack's first exploratory operation is tomorrow (Tuesday 10th January, 2017) from which a course of further action will be determined.
Air-fares to and from Brisbane Hospital, accommodation whilst away from home plus related expenses for ongoing treatment severely compromised family finances only a few months ago and now threaten to be exacibated this year as Jack's treatment looms.
Please if you can at all, assist this young family whose life is clouded with heart-ache and disbelief, at their uncertain future and the hard times looming for their gorgeous and only child Jack.
