Jace being able to attend STEM

Donation protected
Jace Perez is  11 (will be 12 the 24th of this month),  he is a 6th grader at the Middle School, in Vernon, Texas.  He excels in math and science, and is always on the A-B Honor Roll.  His favorite pastimes are playing video games and reading books.  He reads at a level well beyond his grade.  Jace is a computer whiz.  He is well mannered, polite, and always wanting to help.  This school year Jace was a team member for a Project to develop a gaming chair.  The Team was recognized for its excellence, and presented their project to the Vernon ISD School Board.

Base on his “potential and interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math” he was the only Vernon Middle School student selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF), STEMS fields program this summer at the University of Texas at Dallas, from July 6-11, 2019. NYLF Explore STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) is a unique learning experience for bright, forward-thinking middle school students who will evolve into our next generation of innovators, engineers, doctors, forensic scientists, mathematicians, and physicists.

During this six-day immersive experience, students learn by doing as they take part in hands-on simulations, workshops, and competitions, while making new friends and having unforgettable adventures as they plan for a "Mission to Mars."

Few fields are more important to the future of mankind than STEM—science, technology, engineering, and math—and few show as much promise for future career opportunities. Virtually all career fields today require a solid foundation of STEM, and that’s precisely why these are the fastest growing areas of study—and the reason that STEM professionals are in the highest demand throughout the world.

NYLF Explore STEM is built on a multidisciplinary curriculum designed to help students find their passion through hands-on activities in forensics, robotics programming, medicine, and civil engineering. The program provides an invaluable opportunity for curious and high-achieving students to explore the frontiers of 21st century science and technology (https://www.envisionexperience.com).

The tuition alone for this Program is $2,595.  The tuition includes all curriculum and instruction, program activities, site visits and events, overnight housing, program materials, at least two meals a day, a Certificate of Completion, and local transportation during the program. Transportation to and from home and the program location is NOT included in tuition.  Also, Jace will need money for meals not provided, snacks, souvenirs, and other incidentals.

Jace needs our financial support for this amazing opportunity to build on his interests and abilities in STEM to promote his academic future and success.  Any donations will help us raise the funds needed to send Jace to the University of Texas this summer, for this great educational opportunity!
