IN SHORT: In the best years of life . . . at least as far as we know . . . we are seeking help to fund our summer trip to Brazil - an incredible opportunity to work, learn, and grow through the county’s brilliant culture.
THE STORY: In the digital world of trending cat videos (see adorable link below) and constant shares, we decided to share our amazing opportunity with the internet that could use your help.
On a cold day in January, Jake - a graduating senior in Architecture - and I - a second year Art’s Management + Design Major - bought two plane tickets to Brazil. We were unsure of what we would actually be doing there, but knew that this decision would force us to commit to a summer in Brazil-- interning, traveling, and learning from experiences the large country has to offer. Following this step, we worked diligently to set up internships, housing, and the logistics required of a 57 day long adventure.

And by diligently, I might even mean obsessively.

And by obsessively I mean spending 30 hours a week listening to language tapes saying things like “where is the kitchen table?” and “That goalie doesn’t catch anything ” on repeat, placing sticky notes around the entire apartment with conventional word, and closing enough emails with “Um abraço” to hug every soccer ball in Brazil.
From June 1st until July 23, we will be in Sao Paulo. Jake will be working as an architectural intern at Biselli + Katchborian Architects and myself at Tatil Design as a marketing and design intern. While these companies are impassable opportunities, they are unpaid. Our expenses of the trip will come primarily from the month of May, where we will be traveling around Brazil experiencing Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, Curitiba. The rest of the costs will come from everyday expenses in bus fares, food, housing, and entertainment.
We recognize that this is an opportunity of a lifetime, and are already grateful for the family and friends that have contributed in many different ways to this trip. As students, we are now asking our friends, family, and the vast internet to help us reach our goal in order to fund this opportunity.
We are extremely thankful for anything that you can contribute!
